A  FAITHFUL  PASTOR

When I stand before the Lord,

Will He count the streaming horde?

Those who came to hear me preach

And the lessons I would teach?

 

In our state, see where we rank,

And the money in the bank.

Surely size will mean a lot,

For all this we’ve worked and fought.

 

But God’s measurement is not,

Of how many sermons taught.

But was I faithful to His call?

Did I give to God my all?

 

Did I seek my Lord to know?

Whether serving high or low.

On His strength did I depend?

Was I faithful to the end?

 

God sees not as man doth see.

What will last eternally?

So, just give to God your best.

In His hands you leave the rest.
