Fathers

By Rev. Dean Beaty    5/20/08

When it comes to love and care,

Mothers get the lion’s share.

Poor ole dad’s left in the cold.

Few will note he’s growing old.

While we played and went to school,

He became a working fool.

In seeing that the bills were paid,

His own pleasures were delayed.

Now it’s time to honor dad,

As our own Sir Galahad.

Our knight in armor shining bright,

Who seldom sought his own limelight.

For mom there’s flowers and much ado.

For dad a thoughtful card will do.

But don’t forget dad on his day.

For your good fortune he paved the way.
