“In
everything give thanks: for this is the will of God
in Christ
Jesus concerning you.” I Thessalonians 5:18
The giving of
thanks in everything,
This is the
prayer that we are to bring.
But thankful for
thorns deep in the flesh,
This is a thought
that’s hard to address.
So often we
whine, “Please take it away.”
It’s hard to walk
on feet made of clay.
Our dim lit eyes
see not as God sees.
We would prefer a
calm life of ease.
Our Father is
wise in giving a test.
He gives to all
what He knows is best.
We can’t see it
now so trust in His care.
He never gives
more than we’re able to bear.
So trust in the
Lord. He does all things right.
He’ll be by your
side all through the night.
The giving of
thanks in everything,
Shows God as both
our Father and King.
