TO  MY DAUGHTER MICHELLE

ON HER 40th  BIRTHDAY

From  Dad  11/04/06

‘Twas said by one so wise a sage.

“Never guess a lady’s age.”

For if successful in the end

You still are surely to offend.

So this advice, my friend is best.

Do not venture on that quest

For if you’re right, ‘tis best you fled

And if too old, then you are dead.

There is no right age for this sex.

No matter what it’s sure to vex.

Sixteen?  Too full of youthful bliss.

Thirty?  Too old if not been kissed.

And past that age we dare not tread.

‘Twould fill my heart with fear and dread.

Hell hath no furry nor as bold.

Than a woman whose age is told.

Her date of birth with truth I’d say

Cause I was there that very day.

But if I told ‘twould break the spell.

So I’m not one to kiss and tell.
