Worshiping Jesus Christ

By Rev. Dean Beaty,  6/9/2008

For this my heart has waited long,

To hear of Christ, not just in song,

To hear of how He lived and died,

And for my sins was crucified.

Tell me how He raised the dead,

With two small fish five thousand fed,

Tell me why He left His throne,

To suffer Calv’ry’s cross alone.

Take me to the cross of shame

There I’ll hear Him speak my name.

Calling me to look above,

And here again of Jesus’ love.

Don’t just speak of knowing God.

Tell of His Son, His praises laud.

Of real worship there’s a drought.

When Christ’s work has been left out.
