AM  I  AN  EXAMPLE?

There’s a question I must ask

To fulfill the Savior’s task.

Do the footprints that I leave,

Lead another to believe?

 

Can I say, “Come follow me?”

Do my actions thus agree,

With the message of my Lord.

By my deeds and by my word?

 

If my faith was put on trial,

Would my life be a denial?

Of the words that Jesus taught,

Or salvation that He wrought?

 

Would the jury then agree,

I was guilty of the plea,

That my soul had been blood bought,

And made clean from every blot?

 

Lord make my life to be,

By my life and by my plea,

Like Thine own that all may see,

That they need to turn to Thee.
