CAPTAIN  ERIC

Eric is the captain.  The coach has placed him there.

Not because he plays so good but cause of his great prayer.

His skill at stealing bases is well-known near and far.

If he keeps this talent up, he’ll be a baseball star.

 

When it comes to batting, he hits the ball with zest.

But humbleness at all these skills must be his constant quest.

Humility can be so hard when e’er you’ve hit the ball.

But when you brag about your game, be ready for a fall

 

His sisters are his problem.  To them he is the best.

These happy fans proclaim his skill.  To them his bat is blessed.

His father knows great baseball.  He knows what is top drawer.

For as a youth he saw the best, ‘cause he’s from Baltimore.
