KNOWING THE
WILL OF THE LORD
By Dean Beaty

If you would know
the Lord’s perfect will.
Go to the cross
on Calvary’s hill.
Look on the Lord
as He’s hanging there.
Dying in shame,
my sins to bear.
See on His head
His blood crusted hair.
Those are my
thorns. My sins put them there.
Hear as He gasps
for just one more breath.
My sin is why the
Lord suffered death.
See on His face
the blood running down.
He should be
wearing a golden crown.
His flesh is cut
deep where He was whipped.
From off His back
the flesh is all stripped.
So marred is His
image no one could tell.
This was God’s
Son they all knew so well.
Look at the Lord
and see all His shame.
Hear as the crowd
will curse with His name.
If you would know
the Lord’s perfect will.
Go to the cross
on Calvary’s hill.
Look on His face
and then you may ask.
What shall I
choose and what is my task?
