RESURRECTION

They took His body from the cross,

Thinking all was vain and loss.

Since they were filled with disbelief,

They huddled in their fear and grief.

 

Then came the women to the tomb,

And found it was an empty room.

An angel spoke to calm their fear.

Telling them, “He is not here.”

 

“He has risen from the dead.”

“Is this not what Jesus said?”

Then the others came to see,

That He had won the victory.

 

He had conquered o’er the grave.

Now sin cannot our souls enslave.

“Oh death… where is thy victory?”

In Christ alone we are set free.
