SHE HATH DONE WHAT SHE COULD

What will we give Him, our Master and King,

The Lord who created and owns everything?

God does not care if it goes off the chart,

For God seeth only our motive and heart.

 

One gave some ointment she poured on His head.

She knew that soon Her Lord would be dead.

Others gave nothing and mocked at her quest.

She gave from her love to the Lord of her best.

 

Some can give diamonds or rubies galore,

Their gifts in abundance to those they adore.

But God will receive our gifts even of wood.

To her Jesus said, “She hath done what she could.”
