THE BURDEN I BEAR
By Rev. Dean Beaty 8/21/05
Strengthen me
Lord for the burden I bear.
Help me remember
that Thou art still there.
Your will may be
that the burden should stay.
All that I ask is
for strength for the way,
If in the old
flesh, I looked at my plight.
I would have
asked that my burden be light.
Though Paul asked
three times to remove his thorn,
You promised your
strength, that the burden be borne.
You carried the
weight of the cross just for me.
You bore my sin
as you hung on the tree.
You were forsaken
by all but a few.
To the will of
the Father, you were faithful and true.
Strengthen me
Lord, for the burden I bear.
Help me remember
that you put it there.
For you have a
purpose that I may not see.
Just show me the
path that walks closest to Thee.
